Do you believe in God?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 28, 2007:
I don't know if I believe in God. Obviously, there was some creator of the world as we didn't come here attatched to little parachutes!
But if there is a God, then why do some extremists in some religions promote terrorism, murders and suicide bombings? Wouldn't God be advising against that?
Also so many bad things happen in the world. Many people are killed each day because of war, natural disasters occur, surely if there was a God, he would be preventing these things from happening?
I hope I don't upset anyone with this, but the bible was written something like 500 years after events occured so it can not be accurate.
I do like to think that there is someone powerful and loving watching over me, but I tend to believe it is more of a guardian angel as opposed to a devine being.

How strange that you believe in angels, but not in God…
I am sorry that you have been hurt or that you were disappointed….but God is not responsible for our choices…we are…that's why he gave us free choice.
I am not a zealot and I am not sure that I even understand the Bible, so if its accurate or not is beside the point. The point is that the sun and plants and all of us are connected and there is so much beauty and perfection in everything, unfortunately most of the time we choose not to see it, because…there is a sick pleasure in feeling sorry for ourselves… Please don't get me wrong I do it all the time…its hard to break such a pleasurable, easy entertainment…and God won't get too upset, because he's the bigger man…haha…
I believe in angels because I think that when you die, your body may go but your soul doesn't so you can look after those who you loved in your life.
I'm not sure on God, I mean obviously there was a creator of the world but I'm a bit of a doubting thomas on these things so i will definately believe it if the big man himself comes and sees me face to face … if I don't have a heart attack from shock that is :) x
