My mother is the greatest that i could ever wish for.

She had me when she was 15. as soon as she turned 16, she went straight to work so that she didn't have to depend on the state, or, anyone else to keep us.

She wasn't like some young mums who moan about not having a social life anymore or being tied down. She went without so many things so that I could have everything I needed.

When I was 3, she met the man who I call my dad. It took them 10 years to get married and they had a baby together last year.

My mother has always told me to do what I think is right and not to be easily led or make bad decisions just to keep others happy. She also told me that in life, never to think I am better or worse than anyone and to always stand up for what I believe in.

She has always made me believe that if you want to get anywhere in life, you have to work your way up to it and you can never expect to be handed things on a plate.

My mother has encouraged me all through life without ever being pushy or bossy. Unfortunately I live 115 miles away from her, but every week, she puts some money in the bank for me (I don't drive so I have to get the train and boy are train fares expensive!) so that I can go and see her.

When I first moved into my flat, I had moved there from one room and I didn't have any furniture. I was given three days to move in and didn't have much money to buy things and the day I moved in,, unknown to me, my mum and dad had picked up a pile of furniture and hired a van and drove down with it.

She always tells me how proud she is that I went back to college and she tells anyone who will listen about how well I am doing.

My mum has stood by me through all the bad choices and stupid things I have done in life, but, not once has she judged me or told me she was disappointed because of things I have done when I was younger.

She is the most friendliest and help-fullest person in the world and I could never ask for a better mother.

Thats so great that you and your mom are so close - and that you appreciate her!  There are many people out there who have parents who bend over backwards for them and don't care half as much as you do.

And your baby sister is SO stinkin' cute!  Those eyes are so wide!

I know! Some people are so damn ungrateful forwhat their parents do for them! You get some who very rarely bother to visit them!

Krista has grown so much since then, I'm trying to work out how to upload photos so I can put some more of her up x
